Sanford Nautilus offers a variety of classes staffed by instructors who provide quality instruction. Our group exercise instructors possess at least one nationally recognized professional certification. Classes are based on American Council of Exercise (ACE) and Aerobic & Fitness Association of America (AFAA) guidelines.
Aqua AerobicsFor your safety, please arrive on time. It is necessary to warm up and cool down to avoid potential injury. All classes are subject to change based on class attendance and the need to keep variety and growth in our program.
Dive into this exciting workout that combines cardiovascular conditioning and muscle toning! This class uses the properties of water to provide minimal stress on the joints while using full range of motion for a great workout. Swimming skills are not required.
Looking for a weight training class or total body conditioning? This class uses hand held free weights to strengthen and tone all muscle groups!
Step is a great workout that utilizes the adjustable step for an intense workout followed by abdominal work. Choreography may include athletic and/or dance based steps.
This class will liven up your workout. This class combines fast pace, high intensity and dynamic choreography to build both intensity and advanced level step combinations together to create a challenging workout. This class is not designed for beginners. Participants should have full knowledge of step terminology as well as able to execute advanced choreography.

This is a cardiovascular workout that may include various combinations of either hi-low or step aerobics. This class may also include a body toning segment with hand held weights, dynabands, body bars, and/or resistance balls and finished off with abdominal work.

When it comes to body sculpting, the Zumba® Toning program raises the bar (or rather the toning stick) with a class designed for the more hardcore Zumba® participant. It combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-burning, strength-training dance-fitness party. Students learn how to use lightweight, maraca-like Zumba Toning Sticks to enhance rhythm and tone all their target zones, including arms, abs and thighs. The Zumba® Toning class is the perfect way for enthusiasts to sculpt their bodies naturally while having a total blast.
Known as the Zumba® “pool party”, the Aqua Zumba® program gives new meaning to the idea of an invigorating workout. Splashing, stretching, twisting, even shouting, laughing, hooting and hollering are often heard during an Aqua Zumba class. Integrating the Zumba formula and philosophy with traditional aqua fitness disciplines, the Aqua Zumba class blends it all together into a safe, challenging, water-based workout that’s cardio-conditioning, body-toning, and most of all, exhilarating beyond belief.
An advanced step class that incorporates dance moves in a choreographed routine. The dance routine will also build from one week to the next. Athletic drills may be incorporated to keep the level of intensity high while learning new choreography.
This class is a great workout. Boot camp class is designed with cardio and muscle conditioning drills…push ups, jumping jacks, squats, crunches…
This class is a unique program that targets older adults. It is chair aerobic based and incorporates several low impact and weight bearing exercises. This class is perfect for those seniors who are sedentary, unfamiliar with exercise, entering post-rehab programs and/or those who enjoy a positive social environment. Everyone is welcome. The class meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10:20 am – 11:20 am in Studio #1.
